GMC Registration WITHOUT PLAB
In every life we have some trouble/ But when you worry you make it double/ Don't worry, be happy
Hey guys!
It’s hard to know which road is best for you to start as a doctor in the UK given the many routes that are available to get GMC registration. That being said, the good thing about this is you can find a path that is more appropriate for your level of experience and education. Not everyone has to take PLAB.
What we are referring to is the Medical Training Initiative (MTI). This may be the choice for you if you’ve got a decent amount of experience with post-graduate work or exams. You will need to contact the Royal College of your specialty to see how to proceed further, but there is typically a fee associated with applying and an interview process.
The MTI scheme had been paused because of the pandemic, but things are slowly reopening. If you’re interested in knowing more, you can check out our video or article on the subject.
Have you heard about the RoadToUK Forum? It’s filled with information and help related to the journey to get GMC registration and more, answered by ourselves and our wonderful ambassadors.

Song of the Week
Johnny Nash’s I Can See Clearly Now is the best thing to play when you’ve had a down and out day and need a pick me up. It is melodious, light, and inspirational. Pretty soon you’ll realize you’re playing this song all the time.
TV Shows to Binge
Many of you may be familiar with the American version of The Office but arguably the claim to fame was the original UK show. More cringe, more terrible boss situations, and, well, more British than the across the pond rendering, you may find yourself wishing they made more episodes!
