Preparing for PLAB 2
I don't need no arms around me/ I don't need no drugs to calm me/ I have seen the writing on the wall
Hey guys!
Once the stress and pressure of PLAB 1 is done and out of the way, your attention now turns to PLAB 2. Since you can only take the exam, there is the added concern of travel, visa, and accommodation.
The most important thing to remember is by preparing in advanced, you will be able to tackle any issue that may crop up.
Wondering what you can expect for the PLAB 2 exam? Check out our comprehensive article covering everything from exam marking to how to dress.
The biggest problem most IMGs end up facing is choosing an academy and knowing how to be in the exam. Please remember that no academy can pass you- it’s up to you to know how to approach the patient. Here are just a few tips to keep in mind:
Don’t blindly memorize a script
Remember you’re a doctor and stay calm
Pay attention to what the patient is saying to you
If one station goes bad, shrug it off
Be mindful of your time in each station but don’t rush
Song of the Week
Aside from having one of the best music videos out there, a-ha’s Take on Me is also a great toe-tapper of a song that you should definitely have on your playlist.
TV Shows to Binge
Join Leslie Knope as she tries to improve her hometown of Pawnee, Indiana with the help of her not-so-committed colleagues. Oh, and, remember, whatever Ron Swanson says is gold. Basically, you’ll be inspired to do more.
